In September 2025, Brave Legal welcomed Hannah Brodribb as part of our Work Placement Student Program (WPS).
Over two weeks, Hannah experienced the day-to-day work of a personal injury law firm and shared her reflections on the program.
“This immersive experience involved working with a simulated client from the initial interaction stage, through to the final informal settlement conference. I was able to draft file notes, initial letters of advice, liaise with medical practitioners, and contribute to the final stages of the matter, mirroring the full lifecycle of a personal injury case.
Throughout the placement, I had the opportunity to work across a variety of cases and legal research tasks, which strengthened my problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. I gained a deeper understanding of the practice areas of public liability and medical negligence, exploring the history of these areas and how these claims arise in practice. I also had the chance to accompany one of the Brave Legal lawyers to a hearing at the Supreme Court, which was an invaluable real-world learning experience.
This placement also offered a deeper insight into the compassionate values that underpin Brave Legal’s work. Seeing how these values guide the way the team interacts with clients and approaches each case, has been both inspiring and educational.
I’m incredibly grateful for the support and mentorship I received from Bree and the entire Brave Legal team. Their guidance and generosity have left a lasting impact on the way I approach my work and think about my future in the legal profession. I can say that I have been truly inspired throughout this invaluable experience.
Thank you to everyone at Brave Legal for this incredible opportunity and for making me feel so welcome throughout my placement journey.”
We thank Hannah for her contribution and enthusiasm during her time with us.
